Why Diet Pills are Bad News for Weight Loss

In the quest for weight loss, you might be tempted to try the several diet pills that seem to be everywhere these days, although experts like Jenny Craig warn against them. These diet pills promise the world, from rapid weight loss to faster metabolism. In truth, many of these pills don’t work as you’d want them to and may even endanger your life.

One of the risks of diet pills is that these artificially increase your body’s metabolism, whether your body can take it or not. Cases in point are the several incidents of physical discomfort and headaches from taking these diet pills. This is the least concern as some even experience increased heart rate, even palpitations. And truly, losing weight is not worth risking your life.

The better way to lose weight is through regular exercise and a balanced diet. With regular exercise, you train your heart and lungs to function better and more efficiently. You also get to build your muscles. And it is the muscles that use up most of the calories we ingest. When these calories are used up, these muscles turn to stored fat; thus, resulting to weight loss. Plus, by working out the muscles, you ensure that you are burning fat even when at rest. If you pair this with a balanced diet, you ensure that your body is getting energy from the right sources. Complex carbs are harder to burn than refined carbs so you feel full longer. Lean protein and good fat sources are also better choices than red fatty meat and bad cholesterol.

It’s well known that there are many many individuals out there who want to get in shape but go unsuccessful. I think it’s too bad that people won’t catch on that there are not really any quick and easy ways in the world and the most successful way to weight loss is working out and exercise. No smart person will ever say it will be fun, but it is the easiest way to achieve your weight loss goals.
