The Gombies were guest on Friday on Wall Street where they rang the opening bell to start market trading. They were joined by their famous friend Ty Coon who recently did this review of checklist investor. It was a great day all around for the Gombies even though the economy isn’t as good as it could be, that didn’t stop them from taking a tour of the financial district. This was a continuation of their trip to New York City and the Statue of Liberty.
They were asked if they had any investing advice for all of the those interested in making money in the stock market. They said that you need to take a long view of the market, that day trading is not for vampires since they can’t get in the sun. Most of all they said that you should start as soon as possible. Especially all of the young kids who love the Gombies. The best thing is that time is on a young person’s side. You can invest less today and have more later the sooner you start because of the magic of compounding.
Kids were encouraged to talk to their parents about allowances, savings and investing. Also they were asked to start reviewing the stock pages each day to see what kind of news affected the market. In the end though, they said they were convinced that success in the market was directly related to tuning out the media and making your own investment decisions.
The Gombies next stop is Washington DC where they are scheduled to visit the White House and see President Obama. Check back at gombieland.com for more updates.
