About Gombieland

Our first Gombie was the Gombie Bandit.

Hello and welcome to Gombieland. My dad and I created our first Gombie character October 23, 2009 at our kitchen table. We came up with the name Gombie by combining the word “ghost” with the word “zombie” — “Gombie”. We sketched up our first Gombie shortly after that. Once we got to thinking about it, we thought it sounded like a pretty good name for a character and wondered if we were the first to think of it.

So, we searched in Google for the word Gombie and it didn’t seem like anyone had come up with it before. We then looked to see if anyone had the domain name gombie.com but someone already had it. Since it wasn’t available we decided to on the domain name gombieland.com and that’s how our website was born.

We’ve always talked about creating a video game and figured that why not create a whole story and world related to Gombies that we could base it on and that is what this site is all about. Feel free to say hello and contribute your ideas on what you think might be better.
