1. Lying leg thrusts
This exercise is performed by lying on your back on the floor, your head and shoulders slightly raised off the floor and your legs at a 90 degree angle from the floor. Lower your legs towards the floor, stopping at a 45 degree angle. Bring your legs back up to a 90 degree angle and slowly thrust your hips off the ground.
2. Reverse crunches
It is important to use your abdominal strength and not momentum to perform this exercise. You perform the exercise by lying on your back, your feet on the floor, and knees at a 90 degree angle. Slowly crunch your lower half off the ground by curling your pelvis upwards.
3. Abdominal scissors
This exercise makes a movement that resembles that of a scissor. You do it by lying on your back on the floor with your legs in the air at a 45 degree angle. Crunch your upper body off the ground with your arms outstretched and bring your legs inward at the same time.
4. Bench crunches
This is a variation of the normal crunch. It is done on an exercise bench to increase the effectiveness. Place your legs on an exercise bench and slowly crunch upwards.
5. Alternating abs crunches
This is an excellent oblique crunch. You perform it exactly like the normal crunch, but you crunch to the side with your elbow pointed to your knee.
